People who struggle with stairs, beware. And that's just the beginning. The floor has rows of what, 59 seats with the only access being from the sides. Oh, you have an awesome dead center seat? Have fun squeezing past 30 people to get to it.

Parking is nearby, within two blocks. There is a small concession stand that's open during ticketed events.

I saw Joe Bonnamassa there, and it was awesome. I needed handicap access and they were great to accommodate me and my guests (4 seats near the front!)

Great venue to see a wide variety of shows, professional and collegiate. There are two main performance spaces, the Recital Hall (smaller) and the Concert Hall (larger). Both have reasonably good sound, and reasonably comfortable seating. The Concert Hall has very long rows of seats with no middle aisle, so be aware of this if your seat is near the center.

Do not overlook the free UK Art Museum, also located in this building.

This is the main performance venue for the Lexington Philharmonic, and the theater offers numerous other ticketed events throughout the year.

I will happily drive to Louisville, Richmond or Cincinnati to a similar venue given the option. I don't know what would bring me back to the SCFTA.

Some okay shows here but the acoustics are a little hard. The museum is free now so that's a plus.

Are you unfamiliar with the layout? Don't expect any help finding your seat. There were exactly two ushers assigned to the inside on my experience and they were more into the show than the job. The young lady who showed me my entrance door was completely oblivious to the layout as well. As someone with a mild disability, all of the stairs were literally a pain as well. While left to defend for ourselves in seat location, I discovered the rows were labeled with very tiny brass plates with the letters. Nothing illuminated and no one to help. Once seated, you realize the seats are on par with what you might expect in an airplane. It is not a comfortable venue in the slightest. It seems designed for numbers, not experience.

However, the performances by UK music students and groups are what makes this place really special. During the school year, there's something going on almost every night of the week, and all performances are open to the general public, and generally are free.

Fantastic facility. If you're coming for a performance, the acoustics are great; won't be disappointed there. Outside of that, the building houses a lot of ensemble practices as well as small events.
