Wonderful place to go hang out with all of you family and friends. I often like to take my son out there and walk through the woods with him on the trails. Not only do you get a really good history on things but you get alot of exercise.
Awesome park to go to for a walk. Kid's friendly too. You'll get a chance to see the spring with the water coming off the ground, called a resurgence, and then going back under the ground again downstream. It's pretty unique! Great in the summer to see many insects and beautiful butterfly. They also have an inside exhibit showing and explaining the wildlife aimed towards children.
Wonderful park! Love the nature exhibit and is a great place if kids are interesting in learning about nature and the outdoors. The Blue Hole is super cool too!
Historical nature park. It can be difficult to find. The hours can be limited as well. So check website before you go. Sometimes they have events. It is not what I would call handicap friendly. It is a paved path down a hill to the artisan spring, called the Blue Hole. The rest of the paths are not paved for the most part. It is a good place to take the family or do some photography, or just to walk in the woods. Take mosquito repellent. Be alert to Poison Ivy. The have a small visitor center. This place can always use donations. So some change in your pocket can help, or buy something from the store. There is no charge to enter this small park.
Perfect for groups with children, including very young ones. Trails are clearly designated and easy enough for individuals with limited mobility, as well as a few optional inclines for a slightly more rigorous walk. The park features a few remains of manmade structures, but the creeks, springs, pond, and flora are the real highlights. Sign in at the Education Center when you arrive, and be aware that the parking lot gates close at 5:00pm.
