Very fun environment, class structure is great. I am taking the beginner classes and look forward working through all levels. Friendly owners if you have thought about learning or you are advanced and want a place to polish your skills you should take the time to check this place out.
My wife and I had a private lesson with The Salsa Center and had a great time. We used a gift certificate we received from my parents and the Salsa Center team was immediately responsive and worked out times for us to work with them. We received private lessons from the Salsa Center dance studio team at their studio. The studio is a cute place off Allendale Drive, and the inside is very comfortable with great sound and mirrors on one long wall so you can see what you are doing. The total instruction was 45 minutes and we spent almost all of the time dancing and not just watching. We started off with instruction and then started dancing to the music, and the instructor would let us keep going and give us pointers along the way, or pause to exemplify so we could really feel what should be occurring.
I just wanted to take a moment to express my love and gratitude for The Salsa Center. Not only has it changed my life in a positive way, it has inspired me to pursue my passion for Salsa dancing. Reena and team Salsa Center teach with passion, enthusiasm, and have brought the Latin dances to a whole new level in the Lexington area. I am learning many of the Latin Dances such as Mambo, Son, Timba, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa Cubana, Lambada, Samba de Gafieira that I had no I idea I enjoyed as well. Once I saw Casino Rueda (salsa in a circle) for the first time, I knew immediately that I had to learn it. I started back in November of 2011 and I awake each day looking forward to learning more. Thank you Reena and Abel for a superb job at The Salsa Center every day!! Each week, I can't wait for Friday so I can have my private lesson, take two more group classes (always something surprising and fun to learn!!) and finally practice new moves at the party. I was always a fan of Salsa and Merengue and didn't dance Bachata, Timba, or anything else. Now I am really enjoying dancing it all and it makes my Salsa more fun!! Again, thank you for challenging me and at the same time providing good support and guidance. I think both of you are super talented and add balance to each other. Reena, you are great at explaining the details behind the steps. Abel, you are awesome pointing out how to feel the music and how to follow. I love you guys!! I also have to say that I think we are lucky having so many great people as members. You have created a safe and easy place for adults to dance. The studio is awesome. Great environment and friendly crowd. High level of instruction and variety of styles. Specialty is Cuban Salsa style. Highly recommended.
