We have eaten at J Alexander’s many times and have always been pleased with the food and atmosphere. Tonight my husband and I stopped in for dinner after doing some Christmas shopping at the Summit. We had our service dog with us. She is an 8lb chihuahua who is also a rescue. She has been trained as an emotional support dog and is registered with the national service animal registry. She also wears a service animal vest that we were given. She never makes a sound when we are at a restaurant, in a hotel, or on an airplane. Because of her being a support dog and the fact that she is so small, she sits on my lap or in the booth beside me. We were told tonight that “if” she was a service dog, she had to sit on the floor. I would understand that concept if she were a collie, golden retriever or larger animal that weighed much more. Dan, the manager speaking to us, obviously doesn’t know very much and could have handled this more professionally. There are rules which I understand but I also know that it was ridiculous to ask us to put such a small dog on the floor, under the table. Use some common sense. Had he given us 5 minutes to get settled he would have seen that Marley doesn’t move or make a sound. Unfortunately we chose to leave and probably won’t go back. We travel all over the US and have eaten in much nicer restaurants and have never been asked to put our dog on the floor. We are currently at Malone’s having a nice dinner. No one ever questioned us about our dog. In fact, they have been nothing but gracious.
Some nice places here- everything is higher-end, from the food to the botiques. I've tried a few restaurants and enjoyed the variety. The one downside is parking always seems to be an issue.
Happy to see the new addition to Lexington. I think that it is a great new spot in town. More stores for the center would be nice, but so far there is a good variety as well as the food options. There is no high end stores, but maybe they can be added in later. It has plenty of parking spots available. It’s a nice little center that people can enjoy shopping or eating.
Love this place! Great shopping and wonderful restaurants. Highly recommend Honeywood for a fresh spin on food and drink, and the Whiskey Bear for a nice casual spot to whet your whistle.
We love the Summit! What a fabulous addition to Lexington. Such a fun place to hang out and walk thru the shops and eat a one of the 17 restaurants! We love it so much that we opened a Real Estate office here!
